Food production business The Black Farmer has chosen a warehouse unit in Chippenham as their fulfilment and distribution centre to serve the many farm shops that stock their range of products.

Established by Wilfred Emanuel Jones MBE in 1999, The Black Farmer brand celebrates British farming by using only British meat; but also supports the increasingly large community of people who have Coeliac disease, or a wheat and gluten intolerance.

The business has now taken a lease on Unit 10 Bumpers Enterprise Centre in Chippenham. Currently being fitted out, the unit will provide a chilled storage facility from where the business will distribute their wide range of products, primarily to farm shops that retail their produce.

Huw Thomas of Huw Thomas Commercial, who let the unit to The Black Farmer, comments “While much of the retail sector has had an awful last 12 months, farm shops have continued to trade very well, with many expanding the range of products they sell. The Black Farmer is a strong brand and its products are now in demand by many farm shops in the region. Chippenham is the ideal location on the M4 for their fulfilment distribution centre.”
