As a fairly traditional male, I’ve been having my hair cut by the same barber for many years now. He’s a traditional old fashioned gent’s hairdresser that does what’s required to my thinning locks! Just up the road however is Turkish barber who has built a strong client base with his sharp cuts of hair and beards while also burning out your ear hair with a flaming wick! Wiltshire based legal practice Batt Broadbent are expanding their office in Chippenham by relocating to 65 St Mary Street. The month of August is traditionally a quiet month in the property market when applicants, agents and solicitors go on holiday, meaning that usually very few deals are agreed and completed during the month. August this year however was been very different, with a number of deals completed during the month by Huw Thomas Commercial. Early in the month, a 5, 500 sqft industrial unit at Corsham Commercial Centre in Corsham, was let to local company AJM Engineering Ltd, to facilitate their expansion. Despite the current economic uncertainty, commercial property investments are still keenly sought after by investors. Chippenham-based Huw Thomas Commercial property consultancy has just sold a retail investment in the Somerset town of Midsomer Norton for in excess of its guide price. The High Street shop is let to the regional charity Dorothy House Foundation on a lease to 2022 at a rental of £20,000 per annum. When talking of the retail market, the media headlines have been for high profile failures and High Street names in trading difficulties such as House of Fraser, Debenhams, Poundworld, HMV, Toys’R’Us to name just a few.
